WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF THE COUNTY TREASURER?
- Primarily, the Davis County Treasurer collects and distributes property taxes to the taxing entities in Davis County, including the Davis School District, the 15 cities in Davis County, Davis County government and 15 other special service districts. In 2019 the Treasurer collected and distributed just over $337,000,000 to the taxing entities.
- The Treasurer invests all funds of the Davis County Government. The investments must comply with the strict regulations of the Utah Money Management Act, established by the Utah State Legislature and the Davis County Investment Policy.
- Works with all the Davis County departments to receive & deposit all funds.
- Administers bankruptcy filings against Davis County, works with mortgage companies for payment of taxes; works with title companies for complicated property tax allocations on subdivision segregations.
